1. Walking distance to union square where u can find fast food restaurants, cafes, Macy's department store, victoria 's secret, h &m and forever 21.

3. The restaurant/bar called E&O Trading Company on Sutter Street ( just around the corner from the hotel ) is really worth trying - great Southeast Asian food in a lovely environment.

4. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table, so service is relatively fast with no tipping.

5. The other thing is that the hotel does not have a microwave, so if you plan to heat some food you will not be able to.

6. It was also just about 10 steps from the gate leading into China Town which was absolute heaven for us in terms of food options, and we were just 2 blocks north of Union Square which was great for doing some Black Friday shopping.

8. The hotel missed a lot of amenities, such as free wifi & parking (public parking nearby costed about $26-30 per night), any food service etc. But there were anough of nice cafes & eateries nearby, and for the price we paid we had probably the best place to stay in this area.

9. A few feet (literally) from the Chinatown Gate, a few blocks from all transportation, right in the midst of Union Square shopping, one block from the Grand Hyatt where we had drinks on the 36th floor and enjoyed the awesome view of the city, two blocks from Sears Fine Foods for breakfast, etc, etc. Could not have been in a better location for tourism.

10. Although this hotel is right in front of the Chinatown gate, one would still have to walk a few blocks to get Chinese food as the stores right after the Gate sells mostly antiques and oriental souvenirs.
