1. There are always bowls of fresh fruit -- apples, bananas, pears -- out to grab as you walk off the elevator to the club lounge, as well as freshly baked oatmeal and raising cookies, choloate chip cookies, and snickerdoodles.

2. It was everything I'd anticipated: great location (smack dab in between Union Square & Chinatown - a 5-minute walk to either; but beware, the Ritz is on a big hill, if you have issues with some climbing); well-appointed rooms (king bed, sumptuous duvet & linens, marble in the bathroom); exceptional service.

3. As others have mentioned it's a great location, within walking distance of both Chinatown and Union Square; and a cable car ride away from Fisherman's Wharf.

7. If you are in Union Square it is pretty easy to take the street car up and get off and California and walk down to Stockton but other wise bring some comfortable shoes and prepare for some sore legs.
