1. The location is unbeatable (a VERY short walk to Grand Central, easy access to airport transport, etc.).

2. Location: Madison and 41st which is within walking distance (or a short taxi ride) of museums, shops, etc. The down-side is the very small rooms, but we don't to go NY to hang around a hotel room.

Most of the sights in Manhattan are within walking distance: Grand Central Terminal, Empire State Building, Chrystler Buolding, Broadway and the Theater District, Times Square, 5th avenue, Central Park, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, American Museum of Natural History and Heyden Plantarium, Madison Square Garden and so on.

9. Midtown is always where I prefer to be, so that is a little bit personal pref, but it is less than 2 blocks to grand central station which is a good subway stop to be at, easy to get anywhere from there, cabs a plenty on Madison ave, walk to lots of shopping.
