5. Stopped by the front desk - fellow there was nice enough but said that there's nothing he can do since the renovations are not by the hotel but the building - he said that when he calls they say they have the right to work until midnight.

The hot water handle in the bathroom sink broke (wouldn't turn off (it was promptly repaired) and our TV remote had to be replaced (as did several others, I overheard the requests when we were standing near the front desk) Overall I would recommend the hotel due to its proximity to the National Mall, but there may be a few minor inconveniences.
