1. Now there are no onsite amenities like a swimming pool, excercise facilities etc. But Wifi is free.

2. Beach if I didn't absolutely need a pool to make my stay enjoyable (although you can sneak into one fairly easily if you don't make a big deal about it.

3. Oh and go to the Ventian Pool - it's beautiful and for $10 you can spend the day.

6. I'm only not rating Hotel Astor higher here because it doesn't really have a pool or gym, and when we were staying the restaurant was closed for renovation (I think it's going to be Cuban food when it does open when it does re-open though, which would be another v.

7. We wound up using the pool during that time at the sister hotel just one block away (The Clinton) , along with the free internet access.

9. Because it's not directly on the beach and doesn't have a pool, the rates are much better.
