4. We just spent 7 nights at the Hapuna Beach Hotel, sister to the epononymous Mauna Kea Hotel, which is shuttle ride away, and found it a spectacular value as guests have equal access to all of Hapuna's excellent ameneties as well as Mauna Kea's.

5. While I consider it a good value, I was very disturbed by the fact that in their advertising when I booked the hotel they said they had complementary valet and self-parking, but when I arrived they now charge $20 & $15 per day for the parking.

7. As in most resort hotels, the restaurants were a bit pricy; but the US$ 21 for the continental breakfast in the morning was a great value, with plenty of selection.
