1. The bellmen and valets are warm and attentive at welcome and check-out.

2. Special kudos go are more than due to Eugene, an exceptional valet; Cameron and Mar'ke during check-in and check-out (the only way you'd know Mar'ke was a trainee was by her name tag.

3. Finally, during check-out, I asked Cameron and Mar'ke if there were souvenirs with the hotel's name that I might be able to purchase for my wife and daughter.

5. From check-in, when they didn't have any record of the detailed notes from my Virtuoso agent to the Mandarin contact (which I had an e-mail copy of), to arguing with me that (1) they didn't know my family was traveling with me (a fact stated out in great detail in that e-mail which they apologized for missing) and (2) they didn't do turn-down because my do not disturb light was on (a light that went on after 8:30 pm), to the room that is a few years past the need for a renovation, to the untrained staff (an employee actually squeezed himself into an elevator with six people with a mini-fridge on his shoulders - hovering it over the heads of my children), to the check-out (when the bill was error-laden and we found that my kids were supposed to have received stuffed animals upon check-in), this hotel continued to disappoint.
"Doesn't come close to what you would expect - pick another great DC hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/8/2009 Vote
6. Front desk upgraded us to a 'room with a view' (per the AMEX travel amenity) and then explained our other AMEX benefits; late check-out, free breakfast, spa credit.
"ehh, average. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/11/2008 Vote
7. We had complimentary wi-fi internet access but could not get the free codes to work; the front desk was able to get us the 'pay' code and the fee waived - it never appeared on our bill, so that was great that we didn`t have to address that at check-out.
"Six nights of comfort " Read full review on TripAdvisor   7/11/2008 Vote
