5. The location of the Phoenix Park is another asset; two blocks from Capital Hill and the National Mall, across the street from Union Station (very reasonable eats in the food court, by the way), metro and buses (be sure to check out the CIrculator.

6. Another plus is check out time is not until 1:00pm which enabled me to walk to the Capitol on the day I was leaving in the morning and catch the new Visitors Center there and a one hour tour (highly recommended).
