1. Little things like helpful advice from the desk about where to eat nearby (Portland is full of delicious food, do venture forth and explore), the garage valet not minding holding my rental car for 2 hours while we unloaded and settled in (no charge though it's not free parking) since I planned to return it.

The location cannot be faulted (5 mins or less to Pioneer Square and the main shopping area), the in-house restaurant/pub (The Red Star Tavern) has amazing beer and great food, the concierge recommended an awesome breakfast place that was less than 10 mins to walk (Bijou on SW 3rd Ave), the OMSI centre is fantastic if you have children of any age, Deschutes Brew Pub is within easy walking distance and the folks everywhere are really friendly.

5. Other plusses are its dog friendly without that dog pound feeling, and its close to everyhing Portland has to offer, shopping for the girls, great food choices and amazing coffee.
