In a world where
free
WiFi hotspots are everywhere and even very low end motels offer
free
WiFi, the idea of a high end hotel, price wise, would then try to make a profit center out of a basic requirement for any business traveller shocked me.

However, this is the first hotel I have stayed at in years that did not have
free
internet service.

For yet another disappointment, they only offer
free
wi-fi in the lobby.

They gave us a voucher for a
free
stay but we really wanted a refund for the room as neither of us want to stay there again.

They also charge you for everything - including to park your own car in their ample garage - tip, there is a public parking garage right next door and if your stay is on a weekend - it is
free
to park there.

Lastly, perhaps ominously, the
free
ear plugs beside the beds suggest that the nearby train tracks are active at night (but I live in a noisy city such that I had little trouble when those nearby trains rumbled by during the night.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and when we had troubles with our shower water temperature (which actually had a plumbing problem and had to switch rooms) the staff were so nice and gave us
free
buffet breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience of having to change rooms.

Although they say you can only get
free
wifi in the lobby and business area this isn't really true.

Yes, if you want to step out your hotel and walk downtown then stay downtown but really, it takes 15 minutes to drive almost anywhere in town and parking is plentiful and often
free
or very inexpensive.

Last time I got a
free
upgrade here but I guess they were too full to give me one this time.
