1. Given the earlier reviews and comments on the renovation and noise levels, I emailed the management prior to booking and they were kind enough to ensure that we had a very quiet stay by placing us on the 7th floor away from the elevators.

2. Being right outside the elevator, we did hear a lot of noise but that was expected, so we were not overly bothered.

4. Really, no noise, other than the all pervasive hum of ac that you get everywhere in NY.

6. AC was effective and most importantly quiet enough - I just hate it when it goes on and off and makes a helluva generator-type noise when I try to get some sleep.

7. The location is amazing right on times square, we did not have any problem about the street noise, but there's no soundproof in the hotel, is very old like most of NY hotels, the price is very reasonable for what you get since hotels in NY are really expensive, it was kind of clean, who knows how old are carpets, the room had some kind of renovation recently the bathroom was tiny and you have to let the water run for 15 min to get hot water, the towels are awful, the bathroom and closet door didn't close they were so old and they were painted probably tons of times over that they won't close anymore, the toilet was so weird and loud it will splash water everywhere if you don't put the cover down, and if the neighbor flushed it you will hear it.
"excellent location, poor quality ... good for sleeping only.. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/13/2012 Vote
8. There was tons of street noise from a cafe located under our window and construction going on all night.

9. Our room wasn't facing the street and didn't have a view, but we didn't have a lot of street noise either.
"Cool and convenient. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/8/2012 Vote
10. To be fair the hotel can't legislate for this but the racket from the street was well matched by the noise from the internal plumbing.
"Could be so much better with a little tlc " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/13/2012 Vote
