1. For a tourist not oriented with the city this can be a hassle, even though the subway stop is 2 blocks away, you have to take 4 stops to get to Times Square and on your way back, its like 10 stops ( very confusing) Take a cab it will cost like $12.00 to get from Times Square to the hotel.

2. On the day we left we had a late flight so opted for a late check out which the staff were more than happy to organise and cost us 10dollars an hour past 1pm.

3. Compared to trying to work out a train system & the cost of a taxi we were more than happy with this.

4. Costs can be cut by squeezing more people into the rooms, which is (unofficially) accepted to a certain degree (ie: fitting 6 into a twin room) as long as you are discrete about it, and don't make too much noise.

5. My friend and I immediatly left and went over to the Holiday INN Express which cost a lot less, had free wi-fi, free breakfast included and the quality of the room was very nice.

6. The best thing about hotel was location, 2 blocks from subway, and across the street from a great diner, plus cost was good value for the overall quality.

7. Hotel Carter in Times Square is a great place to rent a low cost room for an hour or two.

8. There is a marvelous and extremely cost effective diner across the street, and an excellent grocer just around the corner on Broadway.

9. Having lost the full cost of my stay in a nearby hotel when I had to cancel my trip a couple of weeks earlier as a result of an unexpected family death, I needed cheap.

10. Last but not least, the russian on the 'Shuttle bus' desk told us it would cost $45 to the airport using their service, and a private hire would be $70 plus tolls - the bus would take approximately 1 hour, so we got the Shuttle at 3.20pm to JFK for our flight at 7.
