1. There is a bit of traffic noise, distant sirens etc, but I think this is pretty much a backdrop to New York and it didn't prevent us sleeping.

We were on the front side of the hotel, and didnt find noise an issue really at all unless we had our window open, which we did for most of the trip,the room was just far to hot and dry to have a small baby in, apprently at this time of year they have the aircon system only on fan through out the entire hotel, we found the club lounge far too hot most of the time as well.
