6. If they were to renovate this hotel, we`d go back because we did like the big room and view, but otherwise it is really in poor shape and there are many other better places to stay, some of them cheaper (we discovered), depending on the dates.

I would recommend booking directly if at all possible, or using internet sites to get the cheaper rate but then calling a day latter to confirm with the hotel to ensure they have a room reserved for you - expedia failed in this regard and I got lucky on the day with their vacancy rates (the hotel front desk indicated this happens regularly, and isn`t their fault).
