1. As we went to check in, the concierge was extremely helpful and offered us an upgrade because we were newly wedds.

2. Everything is there, in order of importance, really good beds, relaxed atmosphere, comfortable room, good food and bar at hand, nice and helpful people, moderate prices, very close to one of the largest shopping malls.

4. From the minute we pulled up it was a nightmare, the valet service had us wait 20 minutes in the care before we were finally able to pull up only to be informed there would be no bellman to help us with our bags because they were all busy at the time (BS).

The key is the great value: the rooms are in cute boutiquey style and clean and well laid-out; the staff consistently friendly and helpful and professional; its location is great -- quick to Galleria, quick to downtown or museum district, quick to River Oaks; and it's so easy to get to from 290 and I-10.

10. Don't miss the entrance, it's a little hard to see, but service when arriving is excellent, with someone there to open your door and help get your bags out.
