1. The only downside, and it is with most of the hotels in San Fran, parking is very expensive in the hotel car parks - this one as a minimum of $40 per night - however there is ample on street parking around the hotel - which is free between 6pm and 8am.

2. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities other than the free wifi (which is a godsend) but we found it to be a perfect base.

3. The only compensation is that I could get one of the free Street WIFI signals for 15 mins at a time that gave me over 10MBPS.

4. I paid for a business room - and whilst the lift implies that key card access is required - anyone appears to be able to access including the PCs and Printer (free board pass printing in Lobby for all guests).

8. we ate at the restaurant and disagree with any negative views that we had read prior to our visit, children ate free, our meal included huge salad bar selection and total cost was very reasonable, think about $40 with wine.

Pier 39, Scoma's (for dinner), Boudin Bakery (sourdough is delicious), Ghiradelli (free chocolate bar every time you walk in), Pier 23 Cafe (a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives pick), Alcatraz (awesome audio tour), cable car ride, wine country tour, Lombard Street, Painted Ladies, and Muir Woods are all must-sees.
