Apparently some rooms have Sleep Number beds; this one had normal mattresses that were
decent
, and good pillows.

First-time SF visitors may want to consider Kabuki's location anyway, as Japantown makes for a
decent
hub.

The suite is
decent
in size, and the bathroom is big which includes a sauna and Japanese soaking tub.

Notes:There are many nearby Asian restaurants, including a very good Korean-style Chinese restaurant called San Wang across the street which had excellent tangsuyook (fried pork strips) and a
decent
rotating sushi bar called Isobune right down the street from the hotel in the adjacent mall.

There are now only two Japanese style rooms, which is a shame, and they are
decent
, but poorly placed facing the street instead of the garden, which is stupid.

Bottom line: The Kabuki is a
decent
place with nice staff and probably a good choice for the price conscious traveller who wants to stay close to downtown.
