1. Many years ago this place must have been magnificent but now it is badly in need of an update.

4. I pre-booked a four day stay with my wife as the hotel is next to Grant Park on the lake front and fairly central to the magnificant Mile and a range of museums etc.

5. the museum campus is close, and we walked to the Shedd aquarium and Field museum (by the way you MUST take advantage of buying tickets online for the Shedd - we walked right past the line that others waited over two hours in), we walked to Millennium Park, the magnificent Mile shopping, and even Navy Pier (a little too far for the kids - but a ten dollar cab ride back).
