The best feature though has to be the location (mid-Manhattan, coupla blocks from Central Park), but also it was just across the road from a general store and a mere two or three doors away from the nearest Green deli (great breakfasts): the only downside in this respect would be night-time noise from traffic on the crossroads below: but, hey, it's New York.
