1. Ours was on the 35th floor and an excellent (if not the best) view, and it was quiet and not noisy at all.

There are a couple of restaurants in the hotel -- one is a revolving rooftop restaurant on the 48th floor which we did not visit, the other is Crossroads, which has zero 'curb appeal' and a somewhat limited menu but the food was excellent and the waitress was the best we had all weekend -- lots of tips and info about where to go and when.

Now that I have been to NYC I might look for something different with some specific ambiance based on what I was going back for (NYC has so much to offer) but for someone who is coming to 'the city that never sleeps' for what might be a once in a lifetime opportunity, the Marquis on Times Square is an excellent choice.
