4. I was a bit jetlagged and not entirely on my best awake behaviour then, but the excellent people in the lobby took it in stride.

5. The street looks its best in the morning when the flower shops have displays on the pavement but it felt safe at night too and we were happy to walk back to the hotel at night (There are some nice bars over the street on 8th avenue.
