1. If you continue walking past the Village and pass to the more fancy hotels, they have decent dining, (I reviewed Westin's Tropica elsewhere, as well as Hula Grill's fun happy hour).

3. In return for being a few feet from the main section of Kaanapali, you get fancy hardware on the room fixtures, a robe to wear, beautiful carvings on the doors, distinctive coconut lime toiletries and less crowds.

5. The pools are smaller and simple rather than fancy, but I though they were more than enough considering the hotel is located on a beautiful beach.

6. The lobby is not super fancy and modern, some may actually say it's dated, all I know is when you walk into the very open charming lobby area, you feel like you are in Hawaii, and it feels good :).

10. It isn't huge or have fancy water slides, but it's beach area is beautiful, the common areas are open, airy and clean and the new Tower rooms are GORGEOUS.
