1. It is not a luxurious property in the classic sense (if you are after four season amenities the property is not for you) and does not have the best service we have experienced (in fact service was somewhat limited for a resort), but the relaxed atmosphere, the stunning location (even for Hawaii), the friendly Hawaian local feel and the wonderful camp/cottage setting creates something very special which you dont experience at your run-of-the-mill corporate 5-star resort.
"Hard to beat the setting! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/29/2010 Vote
2. Overall, we had a great time and feel like we left a few friends behind.
"loved this hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/24/2010 Vote
3. All of the staff were very friendly and accomodating, and I appreciated how the staff mingled with the guests at events like the fitness and yoga classes, so it felt more like a community than a resort.

4. great breakfasts and dinners, everything we had was very good- staff was generally very friendly and good, I had to fight to give a tip to the gentleman who helped me with a big load of luggage for instance- hotel reacted quickly to a room change request (we needed two beds rather than one king)- the hotel grounds are large and well manicured, and quite beautiful- pool was very nice, hot tub maybe a bit not hot enough but probably right for most people- I applaud a hotel that provides any kind of honor bar, in this case soft drinks and water, it is not expensive to do so and it is really appreciated by guests who arrive after traveling a distance.
"very good and very bad " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/12/2010 Vote
5. From being greeted at the car by a friendly bellman, to being escorted to the outdoor checkin area where we were presented with kukui nut leis, passion orange guava juice and fresh towels to clean up to being given private lei making lessons.

6. I was here strictly on official wedding business for my best friend and greatly enjoyed the scenery on the grounds.
"Nicely secluded, but glad I wasn't honeymooning here " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/14/2010 Vote
7. Assuming the noise is not a regular occurrence, I might tentatively recommend it to a friend, but certainly not for more than $300 per night.
"Nice hotel, honeymoon surprisingly marred by noisy community center " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/9/2010 Vote
8. Since your visit here in March and your encounter with ants in your room we have taken steps to make sure this is always handled in an environmentally friendly way', as they did to a poor couple who experienced something similar 5 months prior to us, OBVIOUSLY, the problem has not been fixed.
"Complete let down and not worth the money " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/5/2010 Vote
9. The pros about this hotel are the friendly staff, cart service for guests and luggage upon check-in and check-out, no tipping policy, spa, and beautiful eternity pool overlooking the ocean.
"Complete let down and not worth the money " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/5/2010 Vote
10. Although staff were friendly and the overall look of the resort was pleasing, there were important elements that were less than satisfactory, especially for a hotel as pricey as this one.
