1. Spend a few nights in the original wing in one of the gable rooms which was huge and comfortable but had tiny windows, so after a couple nights we asked if there would be any availability to move to the new tower and they did so immediately, very prompt friend Front Desk.

3. Built around an amazingly huge Banyan tree in the beach side courtyard, it is the queen mother of the Waikiki hotel strip.

4. The rooms aren't huge, but are large enough for us to spread out with 3 big suitcases and all the shopping we accumulated in Waikiki.

8. Now keep in mind, this hotel is one of the oldest hotels on the island, along with many of the others in Waikiki, so the rooms are not huge.

9. The huge well known Banyan Tree out the back amongst the diners and swimming pool is a wonder itself and worth just taking a look to see how grand it is.

10. We booked a double ocean view room in the Banyan Wing, once we got to the room it was huge and had two double beds which did look smaller than the double beds we get in the UK but the size of the room was much more than we expected along with a lavish bathroom.
"WOW....most amazing hotel in the perfect destination " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/30/2011 Vote
