2. While it is not in the absolute category of excellent hotels, I rate it 'excellent' because it combines a good value, large comfortable room, very outgoing and friendly staff with a nice member program.

3. Stayed at the Rouge for a conference and everything was fine: Nice big and clean room, great location, staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast.

4. Reception staff were good and with the White House just down the street and DuPont circle round the corner this is well located, if just a little far from the metro to make popping back during the day easy.

6. The rooms are good-sized and the bed was comfortable, but there was not much sound-proofing so that we could hear noise from doors closing, people talking, etc.

10. The continental breakfast was very tasty and plentiful, pastries, baked goods and cereals plus coffee, tea and juice, and the server was helpful and efficient.
