6. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they host a little 'happy hour' event each evening in the lobby, with free wine and a little nosh.

7. We asked people who drove by on the street to help (but of course no one is friendly in DC) and so we had to beg a taxi sitting out front that clearly had a relationship with the hotel and ALSO pay him $20 to help us jump the car.
