1. - The weekend we were there was mardi gras, which was really loud, busy (apparently there was over 210,000 people that showed up) and they closed off the street for it and you had to have tickets purchased in advance, we didn't do our research, this was our fault.

4. i could also hear what was going on in the room across the hall on several evenings (it was either the TV turned on loudly or a very loud speakerphone conversation).

The only real negative from our trip was the loud nightclub bass thumping from stingaree, a club across the street--but even this is not worthy of too much complaint, considering the uh-may-zing location--walk a couple of minutes in any direction for a fantastic meal, interesting bar or cool shopping.

10. We had a supposedly 'quiet' room, and even though our room was away from the main street, it was very loud in our room from the music blasting from the rooftop bar nearby.
