1. We had stayed at a considerably more expensive hotel prior to going down to Longboat Key, but they were full for the nights we wanted on our return, so my son, who flies for BA and had stayed at the Florida Hotel suggested we stay there.

I signed this with a tip and thought it was more expensive than the menu (remembering the taxes are added) it turns out the actual bill had a auto service charge added but i only saw the card receipt so effectively double tipped, The bar staff apologised but I cant help to think this is a common scam.
