1. too bad they don't build them like that anymore.
"great stay " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/6/2012 Vote
2. If you want to have tea at the hotel note that the space is a little odd - no windows, but kind of neat albeit gawdy and the price is really, really high ($85 for 2), but the food is good (though there is a lot of it - too bad they discourage sharing and do not have smaller options) and it is a pretty neat offering.
"An amazing historic hotel, but very caters to weddings & corporates & is super crowded " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/21/2012 Vote
3. The fact that the ducks attract kids and family travel and that non-guests are welcome (encouraged even) to pile into the lobby to see the ducks makes it a bit overwhelming in a bad way.

4. Too bad I needed a quiet, comfortable room in which to sleep.
"worst and most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/22/2011 Vote
5. I expected this hotel to be done in a grand Southern tradition, but it's badly in need of some touch-up pain and refurbishment.
"A bit worn around the edges " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/6/2011 Vote
6. It's too bad I can't give it 5 stars (we had a few dead roaches in the conference center we were using and were met with an 'egh, it happens') but the staff were attentive, the rooms spacious and the location great.
"Great for personal and business travel! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/3/2011 Vote
7. It was the exact opposite of the lobby in that it felt as if you'd been transported to some 'fancy' restaurant in the 70's - bad murals and all.
"Great property...but.... " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/24/2011 Vote
8. Now, the duck thing: it's cute, particularly the duck touches in the hotel and gift shop, but the presentation does border on the campy, although not in a bad way.
"A grand old dame " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/22/2011 Vote
9. I did enjoy seeing the march of the ducks, and one nice gentlemen with the hotel (I regret not getting has name) was helpful and nice the next day, so that took the edge off my bad first impression.
"Mixed Emotions; Probably Won't Return " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/25/2011 Vote
10. Getting checked in was a confusing, bad experience, but I decided to not let it ruin my stay in Memphis.
