1. We did hear very loud, strange noises the first night (assuming was pipes from other comments here) and we would have complained had it happened again but we never heard any other noises after the first night.

2. I didn't feel the need to complain about my room, no big deal really about not getting an newer room, it was clean and covered my needs.

3. For the second half of the trip we were in a suite, and this was a nice increase in space, but the second bed was a fold out couch that had definately seen better days, though the 15 yr old didn't complain.

4. me and my boyfriend went for a week stay at the edison hotel, hotel perfect location,m right in the middle of times square when u watch films or tv programmes with times square and has the big mcdonalds sign and where the ball comes down at new year the hotel is right next to this, 10 steps out the door, right in middle of everything and right in broadway to see a show ticket office again is right outside the front door, best thing we done was get the hop on hop off bus, go for the red bus not the blue one, blue bus does not have a downstairs if it rains, and wen we wnt was very windy so great to pop down stairs, also if you get the hiop on hop off, do the night time brooklyn tour the sights take ur bereathe awaythe hotel itself very comfortable room, some people complain that the furniture doesnt match but i look for cleanliness and as long as i have sumwhere to sleep at night im happy, but lovely hotel, some people might say its not the most upto sate hotel but i was there to see new york not insde hotel room, amazing trip, most places to eat are diners but great food and massive portions but you walk so much u appreciate a big plate of beautiful american food, and to top off my tip i got engaged so this place will always be special to me and when i come back i will definetly be returning to edison hotel, also for my mums 50th in a few months we will also retun to edison.

5. On complaining to the manager, I have to admit that he dealt with the complaint promptly and he himself was horrified and embarrassed by the mouse situation.
"Would not return!! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/14/2012 Vote
6. In the end we gave up and decided not to continue complaining as the chances of finding a room of good standards in this hotel seem to be slim and although our second room had its problems it was the lesser of two evils.
"Dreadful, not recommended " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/1/2012 Vote
7. After complaining further the reception reluctantly changed our room but couldn't understand what all the fuss was about as apparently this is the norm for new york hotels.

10. After speaking to reception we were referred to the Guest liason manager(Erika) who was very effecient & advised us the works would be continuing for a few days & moved/upgraded us to a 'Junior suite' which didn't look at all like a suite to me, It was pretty much a deluxe room with a partion wall in & with a much smaller bed than the deluxe room, however being English we didn't want too complain too much & just accepted the room as we were just happy to be away from those plumbers.
"Poor decor in rooms, a lot of noise as construction work is being done " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/7/2012 Vote
