1. If you go to San Fran you must go to Alcatraz and book in advance online like we did, we talked to so many disappointed people who (in August) couldn't get to Alcatraz as the tickets were all sold out for days.

If you go expecting a Marriott, you'll be disappointed - but the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, the art was interesting, there was a tv, microwave, and refrigerator in our room that all worked, free coffee, doughnuts, and juice in the morning, and the people were friendly and accomodating.
