3. Others have written about having a need to be on the inner courtyard versus the street side due to cable car noise, but I don't think this matters one way or the other if you close your windows to sleep at night.

7. Our room was on Powell Street and we heard the trolleys late in to the night and in the morning but the room was extremely sound-proof and the street noise wasn't a nuisance.

9. NOTE: If you are facing the streets - even the non-cable car streets - you WILL hear a ton of street noise, including the incredibly loud cable cars and taxi summoning whistles.
