1. The only negative was no tea/coffee making facilities, but we solved that problem when we discovered a fab little diner on the first morning - Scotty's, which is opposite the hotel on Lexington Avenue.
|
2. The few problems we came across were dealt with quickly and professionally - for instance, wifi went down but this was fixed when we mentioned it, and we needed a kettle which couldn't be provided, so a coffee maker was brought up instead.

3. The bar was dark and atmospheric and the music was trendy and quite loud - not a problem for us, but I think some people have mentioned noisy rooms above the bar, which I can imagine listening to the music in there.

4. It's not a particularly child friendly hotel as our kids aged 14 and 11 were not allowed in the bar area - although this was not really a problem as we were out most of the time.

5. The room was spacious and on the 14th floor so noise was not a problem, the beds were really comfy and we had an amazing view of the Empire State Building.

6. Nobody wants to have this kind of problem when traveling.

7. I would not recommend st giles, there is a lack of attention in their faults, nobody of the staff felt responsible for that, and they started to ignore the costumer who want to solve the problem in a correct way.

8. We had a small problem with the toilet flush an evening, the receptionis gently sent an 'engineer' within 10 minutes and he quickly fixed the problem.
|
9. The main problem for us was that you are not in the centre of things, we had trouble finding somewhere to eat one night at about 10pm, I feel this wouldn't have happened near Time Square.

10. The communal areas were a little dark which wouldn't have been a problem had the decor not also needed a facelift, the dimmed lights couldn't hide that.
