1. The elevator smelled of paint, and chemicals during the day when we would come and go as we found out from their staff that was in the elevator that it was due to the work they were having done on the floors around us.

2. no smiles or chit-chatthere are two elevators which are very slloowwwm and cant take a while if its busy (especially during the afternoon and around dinnertime)the room itself was essentially a one bedroom apartment - there was a fully functional kitchen (4 burner stove, fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher, coffee maker, and plates/utensils) and people to take advantage of it, so the halls sometimes smell like food lol.
"Great location in Midtown East, but needs some updating " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/15/2009 Vote
3. But most importantly, our room and bathroom were very clean and there was no smell of smoke.

4. Must say that I was very nervous after reading some of the trip advisor reviews especially the comment about the smell of cigarette smoke in the non-smoking rooms.

6. Something is wrong with the ventilation, though, and the smell of smoke was constantly pumped into my room.

9. All in all it was a drab and dreary place to spend a couple of nights not to mention the headache from the cigarette smell.
"Disappointed " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/15/2005 Vote
10. The furniture was a 1970s fake french provincial; the bathtub had part of the faucet hanging off and worst of all an alleged non-smoking room had a definite smell of smoke which apparently the management encourages as there were ashtrays in the drawers.
