6. They were working on the hotel when I was there - on the roof with tar (I was in the back with a great view of the beach, but over the dining room roof), so it was noisy that week - they did comp me for 1 night cost due to that.

A frequent visitor to Miami Beach's South Beach area, I have stayed at The National six or seven times over the last few years with hardly any problems although it should be stated that: 1) I learned not to book the weekends since it is extremely noisy at The National (most often it is the hotel next to The National, and 2) I usually vacation in September or October.
