1. I can't believe some of these negative reviews about this hotel.

2. We did have to turn off the air conditioner throughout the night due to the noise and the furniture did need replacing but all in all, we tried to be fairly open minded and didn't want to focus on being totally negative because that would spoil our holiday.

3. Because I had read such negative reviews I had prepared myself and family for the worse and explained to them before arriving that hopefully the brilliant location will make up for the size and old and tired condition of the hotel and rooms.

4. I had read previous reviews on the hotel, mostly negative and so was extremely concerned about the age, condition of the property and the rooms and whether or not I would be happy booking and being accommodated in this hotel.

6. After insane amount of hours researching on TripAdvisor and despite some negative reviews, I took the plunge and booked Aston Waikiki Beachside and boy was I glad I did.

7. The other negative is that I wanted a late checkout on our last day as we really had nothing going on till about 2 or 3 and our flight left at 9pm.

8. I only have two negatives about the hotel: 1st off, they have people at the front door that hound you every time you walk in or out about booking activities/excursions.

9. Before booking I'd read negative reviews re: the lift, but I wait longer for the lift at work so no complaints there.
