1. I just assumed the bed was dirty also.

7. I suppose in this economy hotels are cutting housekeeping staff so guests are now expected to come back to dirty rooms in the afternoon to get their work done and then have to leave in order to allow housekeeping to do a job that should have been done in the morning.
