1. The wallpaper was starting to peel throughout the room and there were big dents and scratches throughout.

2. It's an old building and some of the details are a bit worn (eg, tired enamel in the bathtub, wallpaper peeling at the edges in some spots, uneven floor), but nothing major and certainly in line with what you'd expect in a building this old that is anything less than super-premium.
