I would recommend the Marriott's or Hyatt
downtown
for a little more money and a whole lot of comfort and piece of mind.

The location of the resort was very good for us as we did several day trips to the surrounding towns (New Braumfels should not be missed) and we also spent two full days in the
downtown
area of San Antonio (20 minutes away from resort to parking deck
downtown
- with no traffic - went at 9 AM).

For the price it was very satisfactory, and the location is very convenient to the airport,
downtown
, and to all our family members.

We had a short drive to the nearby attractions such as; the Riverwalk,
Downtown
, The Alamo, and the area resturants like Papa Deaux, were an added bonus.

Since I wasn't going
downtown
to enjoy the riverwalk,on the first night I went to the upscale restaurant 'Antlers' which was disappointing.

It is about 15 minutes from
downtown
San Antonio but is right off the freeway, though the property is very quite and serene.

You only pay to park
downtown
(visiting the Alamo), the rest of the trail is free and really easy to navigate.
"Don't be tempted to stay here because it's inexpensive...go ahead and spend $10 more elsewhere and stay in a CLEAN room. "
