1. Selected the Avalon for its combination of many features and a great 20% off winter rate ($103 plus parking, Sunday/Monday night of Pres Day weekend).

9. We all booked a one night stay ( 2 rooms) through a Portland tourism site so the rate was reasonable at $109/night.
