The Avalon is an excellent place to stay: nice comfortable rooms; it is on the river and has beautiful walks to enjoy right out the front door; the gym and spa facilities are terrific; the free breakfast is very good; the hotel is a quick walk from the end of the Portland Streetcar, which makes it very accessible to downtown.
