1. There was no sign or mention of this extraordinary fee, but as we were loading the car, I saw the valet fee sign for the first time, as if someone had just put it out.

5. If we had known better ahead of the trip, we would have relied on public transportation alone (the rapid rail system picks you up at he airport and drops off a block from the hotel) and saved the $29/night of the valet parking (without counting the rental fee).

6. The downside: parking fees are $29/day and service in the bar at peak hours (happy hour-ish on Saturday and full-menu breakfast on a Sunday morning) was slow, though the servers were professional and cheery.
