1. Although staying close to the airport certainly isn't as lively as South Beach for our needs this was a good choice.

I only recommend for a short time because if you're actually visiting Miami, you'll probably want to stay in a different area, closer to hotspots like the beach and downtown, but if you want to stay close to the airport and some of the bigger malls and aren't looking to do much while in town, stay here.

4. Very close to the airport , good to relax after hours of fligth and very close to the Dolphin mall , besides easy to get Maimi Beach and neraby .

6. In the EUA we always rent a car (expect in cities like NYC, but the big apple is just an exeception, as well) so the distante between Sofitel Miami and the mall or the beach was not a problem for us.

7. I was travelling to South Beach daily, and even with the costs of cabs, this hotel was STILL cheaper than anything in South Beach, and it was like an oasis away from the hustle of the city.

Advantages: - very close to the airport - great access to downtown Miami and beaches - pets accepted at no charge (I saw many dogs and cats in the hotel) - very, very friendly staff - great views for airplane freaks - very comfortable beds Disadvantages: - the hotel is pretty old and definitely needs a major refresh - really dirty windows - general feeling of a 1970's building - planes can get quite noisy.
