4. We were in LA for our niece's graduation from UCLA so we booked this hotel for it's proximity to the campus and decent rate compared to everything else in the area for that weekend.

9. I also found the InterContinental more appealing than the Century Plaza (a Hyatt operation) just up the street: the rooms are a bit more comfortable at the IC, and the Century Plaza was only about $10 cheaper at the rates I was interested in paying.
