1. A plus to the non-downtown location is that parking near the hotel is a ton cheaper per day than any lot right downtown.

2. It's a matter of context, if you come from a big city, given the compact nature of Boston's downtown and historic neighborhoods everything will seem relatively handy.

3. I also wouldn't stay here again if I was looking to walk everywhere, it was a little far to get to Back Bay and Beacon Hill, it is in great walking distance from Downtown though.

Although some may find it not so close to many downtown favorites like the Harbor, North End and the Aquarium as the Marriott Long Wharf, this Renaissance is a true gem with helpful staff and plenty of amenities like free WiFi in all rooms, luxury toiletries, a 24/7 gym and a good restaurant for both buffet and dinner.

5. It's a little farther from the action than the big downtown hotels, but you save on the rate, and getting to the subway line is easy.

6. Another thing is when you ask the Concierge about a nice restaurant, she says she'll book you in her 'favorite Italian restaurant' or some other nice seafood places downtown.

7. Checked in for 5 nights at this hotel and although not located in downtown Boston, was in a lovely up and coming waterfront location, with plenty of bars and restaurants within 5 minute walk.
