If you want a view of the harbor or higher end shopping establishments you'll definitely have to stay in the Inner Harbor area, but it will definitely
cost
you.

We were delighted to have gotten such a nice hotel for $69 a night; my only complaint about the hotel is the
cost
of parking - their garage was $24 a night (plus $4.80 tax!) We should have driven around a bit looking for cheaper garages, but we opted (and paid for.

On one occasion, the bell captain aggressively told us there were no buses from downtown to Charles Village, so we had to take his friend's car for $20 (there are several buses, and a cab
cost
s $11).

Miscue #1 - OK, we arrived on Valentines day to find no hotel parking - however, we were pointed to a lot across the street (without in and out privileges) that ended up
cost
ing us $15.50 per day rather than the $35 valet charge per day.

My only complaint is that parking in the garage under the hotel was not included in my room
cost
, I had to pay an additional $23 a night for parking.
