1. Pretty lobby with good and friendly service; nice, big rooms; a small but nice bar with a pretty patio overlooking the pool and grounds; the breakfast in the restaurant was very good as well.

Pros:+ Although as has been noted, the hotel is little faded (for example the marble on the steps to the pool is missing in places), overall the hotel is in good condition+ Good value compared to the downtown hotels+ Lots of restaurants within walking distance (and also US stores for international travelers to buy from Gap/Target etc).
