1. It was quite nice to hear the cable cars going down the street in the morning and at night, but it also means that you can pretty much hear anything going on in the streets.

6. Even better, I was on 2nd floor, facing the main street (apparently that was the only room available), I was lulled to sleep by the noise of yelling pedestrians and street musicians, and woken at 5 am by the sound of garbage trucks.

7. The hotel is excellently situated on Powell Street, a block or two from Union Square, (about a 2-3 minute walk) and is on the cable car route which begins only 100 yards from the Hotel entrance.
