1. I liked the neighborhood even if we were warned that it can get a little rough, and I would go back, although I might refuse to pay the standard charge.

2. I would stay again at this hotel / and in the Union Sq area again if I were traveling with a friend but never will go there alone because the neighborhood is full of homeless people and drug addicts.

6. The Clift's website offers great lists of restaurants and shops to check out, but they aren't necessarily within walking distance, and it's hard to tell which ones are clustered close together enough to merit a dive into a certain neighborhood.

7. The neighborhood, as all of the Union Square area, is home to some seedy types, though I found San Francisco's homeless much more creative than those residing in the Nation's Capital.
