1. However overall I would highly recommend the Rex for it's friendly staff, location, cosy rooms and the lovely bar area, so much nicer than the large, soulless hotels which all look the same.

5. If you'd like to stay a bit closer to the wharf and a bit further from the action, we could also recommend Hotel Carlton which is owned by the same company as Rex.

9. Would highly recommend Lori's Diner just a couple of doors down for breakfast as they have lots of choice, the food is good and you only pay for what you have had.

10. Would also recommend Fino's Italian restaurant on Post which is about a 5 minute walk from hotel although best to book and Swiss Louis's restaurant at Pier 39.
